Synthesis, Interpretation And Evaluation Of Future Powertrain Concepts

Due to increasingly strict global CO2 and emissions regulations, optimisation of conventional drive technologies is becoming a diminishing option, which can make only a limited contribution to future reduction of fleet emissions. This results in an ever-increasing degree of electrification in vehicle drives, as currently demonstrated by all vehicle manufacturers. This does, however, give rise to a very broad and complex field of potential solution technologies – from 48-V mild hybrids to purely electrical concepts. At the Institute of Automotive Engineering in collaboration with Audi new ways of synthesis, interpretation and evaluation of future hybrid powertrain concepts were developed.
