Show Ground: Bosch Showcases Future Mobility Solutions

The Bosch Group, a leading global technology solution provider, has operations divided across four business sectors - Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy & Building Technology. As far as India is concerned, Bosch has the largest development centre outside Germany for end-to-end engineering and technology solutions. The company is focussed on driving the future of mobility through cutting-edge innovations and will showcase a gamut of technologies focussed on the mobility solutions at the FISITA World Automotive Congress in Chennai.

Bosch will be showcasing solutions in the areas of electrification, connected and automated driving. The company is adopting a holistic approach to CO2 reduction with solutions that range from reducing CO2 in existing powertrain, to alternate fuels and electric vehicles. Bosch will also be showcasing advanced infotainment systems and connectivity use cases that are going to provide a host of services to the customer. The connectivity products being displayed will help towards making the car a third living space.

Sandeep N, Executive Vice President, OE Sales India, Bosch Limited, said India is the largest development centre for Bosch outside Germany, where it
has about 14,000 R&D associates working on solutions for the future. Changing market conditions, use cases and customer requirements forms
the centre of the company’s innovation culture, he noted. Sandeep added that this will pave the way for achieving its target of emission-free, accident-
free and stress-free mobility for the future.

As far as addressing future challenges is concerned, Bosch is said to be well prepared with solutions of the future, working closely with customers, and supporting them with their BS VI implementation. Bosch is able to offer its global expertise and make a smooth transition for customers. With respect to safety regulations, Bosch is already having products adhering to upcoming regulations as well as future regulations that could come up. Electric vehicles are also gaining momentum, even though there are significant challenges from the infrastructure side in implementing them. Bosch India fully supports the Indian government’s vision and has set up a project house for developing India-specific solutions, and is making good progress in many areas.

The company said 2018 is an important year for the automotive industry, as it is at the cusp of a technology revolution in all areas with respect to electrification, connectivity and automated driving. Automobile manufacturers are coming with new products comprising new connectivity features that are witnessing successful implementation. The automotive industry is recording robust growth and Bosch’s growth is also faster than the growth of the automotive market. The company is also witnessing a growth in investments in the automotive sector, both in the manufacturing side as well as in the shared mobility segment.

Although there are some uncertainties in the global automotive market, the Indian automotive market appears to beat the trend and is poised for strong growth in all the segments.
