Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has launched the 2020 Tucson with a starting price of Rs 22.3 lakh (ex-showroom). This premium soft-roader will be available in petrol and diesel engine options, with the top-spec diesel available in 4WD hardware. Launched across a virtual showcase, Hyundai showcased the new Tucson and celebrated the success of Verna and Creta in an innovative digital format. The engine options available for the Tucson are both BS 6 compliant and produce decent performance numbers. 2.0l petrol develops 185 PS power along with 192 Nm torque and is mated to the 6-speed AT. The 2.0l diesel develops 152 PS power and 400 Nm peak torque. It also gets a new 8-speed AT gearbox, and the top-spec GLS can be opted with HTRAC 4WD capability.
Feature list includes many first-in-segment features such as power-adjustable front seats (passenger – 8 ways, driver -10 ways), Infinity sound system with 8 speakers), hands-free power tailgate and wireless phone charger to name a few. Additional conveniences are a wide opening panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents, and electronic parking brake. Hyundai’s Advanced Connected Car Technology “Hyundai BlueLink” allows users to remotely lock /unlock and start the Engine/AC using smartphone/ smartwatch. Also, the vehicle can be tracked and immobilised with just a touch of a button.
