Ashok Leyland has bagged an order from African nation Senegal to supply 400 minibuses to Senbus Industries based out of the West African nation's capital city Dakar. The company said the latest order follows its successful deployment of 475 buses to Dakar Dem Dikk, a public transport organisation that runs under the aegis of the Ministry of Transport, Senegal
Ashok Leyland said the Eagle 916 bus is a strong and sturdy platform that has been developed exclusively for Africa. This bus features a superior technology of inline pump with Euro III emission norms, maneuverability and fuel-efficiency and drives comfort, safety and profitability to the next level, the company noted.
It may be noted that the company has carried out extensive on-road product trials with various customers in Africa. These buses are expected to be delivered towards the end of June this year.
