BMW Begins New 5 Series Production At Chennai Plant

BMW Group India today announced that its manufacturing facility in Chennai has begun production of the soon-to be-launched, new BMW 5 Series. The company said it is launching the all-new BMW 5 Series in India on 29 June, 2017.

Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India, congratulated the Plant Chennai team for achieving the important milestone of the start of production of the all-new BMW 5 Series.

The plant has been producing cars for the past ten years with the same international quality standards as any global BMW Group facility, noted Dr Jochen Stallkamp, Managing Director, BMW Plant Chennai. He said the company is confident that the all-new BMW 5 Series produced in Chennai will further increase BMW’s momentum in the Indian luxury car segment.
