The 15th edition of Auto Expo 2020 Components Show, organised jointly by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), concluded on 9 February, 2020. The automotive trade show was organised on the theme ‘Technovation - Discover Innovations for Future.’ It reflected the potential of Indian auto component industry to adopt the latest advancements in BS6 and Emissions, EVs, Safety, and e-mobility. Volvo Car India Achieves BS 6 Compliance Ahead of April Timeline

 

With all vehicle manufacturers racing against time to comply with BS 6 norms, Volvo India has announced that all its models have adhered to the new emission norms, including all CKD and CBU versions from its portfolio. But the good news for customers is that there is no price increase on any model till March 31, 2020. It does appears that the company has taken a call to absorb the increased overhead for this compliance to boost sales in this downturn till the new norms are implemented. Ricardo Delivers Production Transmission Control Software To CEVT

 

China Euro Vehicle Technology AB (CEVT) developer of mobility solutions for the Geely Group brands has selected Ricardo to deliver the safety-critical transmission control software. This seven-speed dual clutch transmission with a lead 2020 model year application will be fitted in a compact luxury crossover SUV, the company noted. READ MORE

Ashok Leyland’s Optare Wins Order For 37 Electric Double Decker Buses In London

 

Optare PLC, a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland, has announced its partnership with Tower Transit Group in the launch of two new electric routes in London with the supply of 37 Metrodecker double deck EVs. The Metrodecker EV, which is claimed to be the first-ever zero-emission double decker, is designed and built at Optare’s facility in Sherburn, near Leeds. Tower Transit’s order is the third major contract for the Metrodecker EV in just over a year, and the second order for the capital. By the end of 2020, 100 units of the bus will be in service.

Ducati India Appoints Bipul Chandra As The New Managing Director

 

Ducati India today announced the appointment of Bipul Chandra as the new Managing Director of the India operations. He takes over this role from Sergi Canovas, who is moving to an international role. Chandra was earlier Ducati India’s Sales Director, and has now assumed the position of Managing Director for the company. In his new role, he will be responsible for spearheading Ducati’s business growth and network expansion in the country.

Bosch India Appoints Sandeep Nelamangala As Executive Vice President Of Sales

 

Bosch Limited India announced the appointment of Sandeep Nelamangala to the role of Executive Vice-President responsible for Sales, effective 1 January, 2020. Starting his professional career as a Technical Graduate Trainee in 1992, Nelamangala has been associated with the Bosch Group for 27 years. He will continue his roles as the Executive Vice President, Sales of Mobility Solutions, India and a Non-Executive Director of ZF Steering Gear (India) Ltd. Over the past years, Nelamangala has worked under several positions mainly in gasoline (petrol) systems, diesel systems and two-wheeler and power sports.

Fujiwara began his professional journey with Yamaha Motor Co Ltd, Japan in the year 1989. In his 30 years of experience at Yamaha, he has played a significant role in developing a strong R&D structure and driving Yamaha’s long term growth strategy. His major accomplishments in Yamaha include Project Chief of Engine Design of YZF-R1 (2004, 2007 & 2009) and Project Leader of YZF-R1 (2015).
