Bajaj Chetak Launched at Rs 1 Lakh

Bajaj Auto has launched the highly-anticipated Bajaj Chetak in India at a price of Rs 1 lakh. The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter was showcased in October 2019. The electric scooter is now available for test rides at select KTM showrooms in Pune & Bangalore commencing from January 2020.

The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter will come with a range of 95 kms and can be fully recharged in 5 hours. The Chetak e-scooter gets an IP67 water resistant rating and a battery warranty of 50,000 kms. The scooter is being offered with a home charging station and customers can book the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter for Rs 2,000/- Deliveries will begin end of February 2020.

Jeep Compass Diesel Automatic Launched at Rs 21.96 Lakh

FCA India has announced the expansion of its Jeep Compass range of SUVs with the introduction of two turbo-diesel automatic variants with a 9-speed transmission. The Jeep Compass 4X4 Longitude 9AT will be made available at Rs 21.96 lakh  and the Limited Plus variant at Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The diesel powered variants will continue to get the BS 6 compliant 2.0 l engine that is rated for 173 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The SUVs will be offered in AWD and 4X4 configurations. Test drives of these units are now open across 80 showrooms in India.

Maruti Suzuki Completes Training 50 Lakh Drivers Cumulatively

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has clocked a milestone of providing state-of-the-art driving training to 50 lakh aspirants, cumulatively. The figure includes candidates trained across learner, refresher and evaluation courses at its Maruti Suzuki Driving Schools (MDS) as well as Institutes of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTR). Maruti Suzuki has undertaken social initiatives targeting different aspects of road safety management and driving training.

Drive Smart Drive Safe Organises IARC2020 

Drive Smart Drive Safe NGO organised a mass pledge of Code of Conduct at Tau Devi Lal Park, IMT Manesar with an aim to arrest alarming road deaths on Indian roads and create awareness for safer driving behaviour during the National Road Safety week 2020. Volunteers from International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) and All India Transporters Welfare Association (AITWA) were also present and committed themselves to be a road safety warrior. Representatives from various corporates including Hella, Subros, Beumer Group, Sansera, Huber Suhner, MSIL, Sandhar Amkin, Bosch, Dhoot Transmission, IMT Industrial Association, Senior Flexonics, Lumax and Anand Group were present to take the safety pledge.
