SIAM Moves Supreme Court Seeking BS 4 Vehicle Registration Till March 31

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking directions to ensure that sale or registration of BS 6 vehicles are allowed till the cut-off date of March 31, 2020. The latest move comes close on the heels of some state governments recently issuing circulars directing that no applications for registration of BS 4 vehicles be accepted on or after a certain date, which is much ahead of March 31, 2020. Renault India Launches BS 6 Duster from Rs 8.49 Lakhs

Available with BS 6 compliant 1.5l petrol engine paired to 5-speed manual transmission, Renault Duster is now available from Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh in three variants. Power and torque figures remain the same 106 PS and 142 Nm. The fuel efficiency figure claimed is 14.26 kmpl. Ride and handling dynamics remain the same as earlier.

Lithium Urban and Fourth Partner announce JV for Solar-EV Charging

Fourth Partner Energy and Lithium Urban Technologies have joined hands to develop solar-powered electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the country under JV ‘Shuchi Anant Virya’, SAV. With a charging network spread across Gurugram and Pune, 30-40 EVs will be able to recharge at the same time. The hub in Gurugram will be used to initially support Lithium’s Wipro and American Express fleet.
