Piyush Prasad Appointed as National Business Head, Hero Electric

Nidec Adds 200 kW and 50 kW Models in its EV Traction Motor Systems

Nidec has introduced two new models in its portfolio of traction motor systems for electric vehicles. The new addition includes a 200 kW model for the D and E segments cars and a 50 kW model for the A segment. Both the models are based on the company’s original 150 kW e-axle which is a fully integrated traction motor system (electric motor, reduction gear box and inverter) in the world to enter mass-production, claims the company. The new 200 kW e-axle features a motor and gears that have been improved to increase the power of the system by more than 30 % whereas the 50 kW model adopts a coaxial design that has enabled a significant size reduction. Mass-production of the 200 kW and 50 kW models is slated to commence in 2023 and 2022 respectively.


Tata Motors to supply Tigor EVs to UGVCL

As a part of its tender with EESL, Tata Motors has bagged an order to supply Tigor electric vehicles to Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. (UGVCL) that will be deployed in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. Tata Motors is said to have been is closely working with other Tata Group companies including Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Autocomp, Tata Motors Finance and Croma, to create an e-mobility ecosystem, Tata uniEVerse.
