Mercedes-Benz, NVIDIA To Build Automated Driving Computing Architecture
Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA are in talks to enter into an agreement to create an in-vehicle computing system and AI computing infrastructure. Beginning in 2024, this system will be rolled out across the fleet of next-generation Mercedes-Benz vehicles, enabling them with upgradable automated driving functions, the company noted. Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMI) has released the Elantra with a new BS 6 compliant diesel engine option from Rs 18.7 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in SX and SX(O) trim levels, customers may choose from six-speed manual and automatic gearbox options. The proven 1.5l U2 BS 6 diesel engine develops 115PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd has announced the Grazia 125 in a new BS 6 compliant engine from Rs 73,336 (ex-showroom Gurugram). It gets a more edgy design, LED lights, and a lot of convenience features like multi-function switch, integrated engine start/stop switch, side stand indicator with engine cut-off, and more. The programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) takes combines data from six sensors, engine oil temperature sensor, engine speed sensor, oxygen sensor, air pressure sensor, air temperature sensor, throttle position sensor, to inject the right amount of charge in the cylinder for optimised fuel efficiency and emission. With rising safety customers amongst customers, Bridgestone India has launched contactless tyre servicing platform called ‘Bridgestone Bookmyservice’. It enables customers to book appointments online and spend less time at outlets. Once booked, customers will get SMS with booking details, store details, and location of the store. The planner will also allow Bridgestone channel partners to implement appropriate social distancing measures at the outlets, which are necessary in times of the COVID-19 crisis.
Toyota Yaris Now Available on Government e Marketplace
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced the availability of Yaris sedan on Government e Marketplace (GeM) in its J grade. The petrol engine powered model will be available in its seven-airbag option with manual transmission on the dedicated e-market for online procurement of goods and services by Government Organisations, Departments and Public Sector Units (PSUs). It will be priced at Rs 912,382 (freight charges and taxes extra basis location) and is available in super white colour, while other colours may be supplied on request.
Nissan Unveils Four-Year Plan for Africa, Middle East and India; B-SUV to Launch in India
Nissan Africa, Middle East and India (AMI) announced a comprehensive four-year strategy for the region under the company’s Global Transformation Plan. The business plan aligns with the global direction of rationalisation, prioritisation and focus to bring core models and technologies to a region that accounts for around ten percent of the world automotive market. Nissan will launch eight new models in the region, with the B-SUV to launch in India.
