Valeo today announced that it will be revealing its latest technological innovations around the revolutions of future mobility at the 2019 Shanghai International Auto Show. The company will unveil its innovations in the areas of electric, autonomous and connected vehicle segments at the auto show.
The company will present its low-voltage (48 V), all-electric urban vehicle prototype, which is an example of its electrification solutions for all the different mobility needs and uses. The fully-functional two-seater electric vehicle can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h, with a range of 150 km. It can be charged via any power socket, offering an idea of what an affordable, compact vehicle that is perfectly adapted to urban mobility could look like in the future.
Valeo is also making the global unveil premiere of its reversible charger, which is claimed to be a major innovation enabling vehicles to become links in the power grid. This technology has been developed in collaboration with Chinese company Xcharge, and this system makes it possible to send excess electricity back to the grid, noted Valeo.
China is determined to lead the way in the emergence of autonomous and connected vehicles, for which the country has set out an ambitious roadmap for 2020, noted Valeo. The country has a goal of making half of all new vehicles produced in 2020 to feature semi-autonomous driving systems. These driving systems will be based on different types of sensors, which will enable the vehicle to map out its environment. Valeo finds the Shanghai Auto Show to be the perfect opportunity to rediscover its portfolio of sensors, which includes Valeo SCALA - currently the first and only series-produced LiDAR in the automotive industry. It is also showcasing its sensor cleaning solutions, including Valeo everView.
