As an independent company, Vitesco Technologies aims to quickly respond to market changes and develop products like 48-volt electrification, performance electronics for hybrid engines and electric engines, battery-powered vehicles for future of mobility
Continental’s Powertrain Division is now Vitesco Technologies with immediate effect. The company has already been operational independently since January 2019 and has its headquarters at Siemensstrasse in Regensburg as well as 50 operating locations across the globe.
The drivetrain ecosystem is currently witnessing tremendous changes and is expected to see electric and hybrid vehicles take estimated 50 percent share by 2030. Mild hybridisation of combustion engines is particularly expected to get importance in the foreseeable future. Vitesco Technologies' portfolio includes technologies for 48-volt electrification, performance electronics for hybrid engines and electric engines, as well as purely battery-powered vehicles. Electronics, actuators and sensor competencies continue to be a core business for the company.
Andreas Wolf, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vitesco Technologies, said the new identity is a claim to leadership in developing every drivetrain as smart and electric.
