GM India Export Chevrolet Beat Sedan Latin America

General Motors (GM) India has announced the start of regular shipment of exports of the sedan version of its Chevrolet Beat from the company’s Talegaon plant to Latin American markets. A consignment of 1,200 Chevrolet Beat sedans was loaded for shipping to Latin America, following the start of production on 5 June, 2017.

Earlier in 2017, GM India began exporting the Chevrolet Beat hatchback to Latin American markets. The company exports the Chevrolet Beat hatchbacks and sedans to a number of left-hand-drive markets in Latin America, it noted.

Asif Khatri, Vice President - Manufacturing, GM India, said the company’s Talegaon facility is a key export manufacturing hub for GM. He added that GM India’s exports have more than tripled in the past year, and the company was India’s third largest passenger vehicle exporter in May.
