Hyundai already has fuel cell electric vehicles such as Nexo and ix35 in in its global line-up
Hyundai Motor India Limited has announced that it is evaluating the feasibility of bringing fuel cell electric vehicles (FECVs) for the Indian market in line with its commitment towards the zero emission ecosystem. The announcement comes close on the heels of its new roadmap named Strategy 2025, wherein the company expressed its intent to transition into a smart mobility solution provider from just a vehicle manufacturer.
It is pertinent to mention that Hyundai Motor India already has fuel cell electric vehicles such as Nexo and ix35 in in its global line-up. As far as battery electric vehicles (BEV) are concerned, the company has already rolled out the Kona Electric in the country and has also drawn up plans to launch the Ioniq.
S S Kim, Managing Director & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, said zero emission mobility is Hyundai's responsibility and vision to facilitate a long-term positive transformation for the future generations. The company has initiated the process of conducting feasibility study for fuel cell electric vehicles in India and is keen to offer zero emission mobility solutions, he added.
