AURA first sedan to be offered with BS VI turbocharged petrol engine in its category; advanced NOx trap catalyst and particulate matter filters to minimise environmental pollution and optimise after-treatment system performance
Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) revealed today all the powertrain options that will be offered in its upcoming new sedan, AURA. The Hyundai AURA will be available with two petrol options and one diesel engine option, which are all BS VI compliant. The engine options for the AURA have been equipped with advanced exhaust after-treatment systems to meet emission regulations, HMIL noted.
The first option for the petrol version of the Hyundai AURA is a 1.2 l, Kappa Dual VTVT engine paired to a five-speed manual transmission or an automated-manual transmission (AMT). A 1 l, turbocharged Gasoline Direct Injection (GDi) engine with a five-speed manual transmission is the option for the petrol variant. Meanwhile, the diesel version comes powered by a 1.2 l, U2 CRDi engine mated with either a five-speed manual transmission or an AMT.
In addition to being powered with cleaner BS VI-compliant petrol and diesel engines, the new powertrains offer low vibrations, superior performance and high fuel efficiency, said Hyundai India. It added that this ensures that the AURA sedan offers cleaner emissions and efficient performance. Furthermore, the Hyundai AURA is also claimed to be the first sedan in India that will offer a BS VI turbocharged petrol engine in its segment.
