Unchanged introductory price, success in export markets propels Venue brand ahead; company developing left-hand drive model for exports to Gulf, Africa and Latin America
Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has announced that its Venue compact SUV is set to close the Calendar Year 2019 with bookings reaching 100,000 units, within seven months of launch. Some of the factors attributed by the company to this success include unchanged introductory price since launch, as well as the model’s success in overseas markets.
The Hyundai Venue is ready to make its foray into the South African market from 2 December, 2019, with the first major shipment of 1,400 units having departed from the Chennai port. The other markets of exports for the Venue are Nepal, Bhutan, Mauritius and Seychelles. Currently, the 1 l, Turbo GDi with 7 DCT Right-Hand Drive model is being exported to all international markets. The Left-Hand Drive model of the Venue is being developed and is expected to be exported to the Gulf, African and Latin-American regions, HMIL noted.
SS Kim, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, said the Venue has become the customers’ first choice in India and global markets. The vehicle has penned a new success story, having registered over 90,000 bookings (May-Nov, 2019) in India, he added. Kim further said that of the 60,000 customers of Venue, 22,000 opted for the Blue Link Connected Technology variant, which showcases customers’ trust in Hyundai Technology. Hyundai promises to continue this momentum in the year 2020, with new products coupled with new technology, he noted.
