ICAT Inaugurates New Test Track Alongside Technology Appreciation Workshop

International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), has been creating the required knowledge, competencies, R & D and testing facilities for emerging auto technologies, including powertrain electrification technologies.

The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), conducted a technology appreciation workshop for Government agencies such as BEE, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology at Manesar. Alongside this workshop, the organization also inaugurated its latest test tracks, Auditorium and Administrative blocks at Manesar.

The event was attended by bodies including key resources from RTOs for both the centre and the state. Union Minister for Heavy Industries and public Enterprise, Arvind Ganpat Sawant was present at the inauguration ceremony.

ICATs technology appreciation drive was aimed to bring out the technological advantages of hybrid electric vehicles as compared to vehicles powered by conventional fuels.

In his address, the Union Minister stated that the country needed to focus on local requirements of the customer and the industry while also working on framing a policy for India. While addressing the august gathering, he said, the import of Lithium should not replace the import of crude as the migration towards electric vehicles begins.
