The Iglidur tribo-polymer coating will provide a wear-resistant, compact and cost-effective solution to users who do not have enough space to install a plain bearing
Igus has developed three new materials made of maintenance-free tribo-polymers, to be used as coating materials for metal components like metal sheets, valves or shafts in order to ensure lubrication-free sliding in small spaces. The materials will provide a wear-resistant, compact and cost-effective solution to users who do not have enough space to install a plain bearing.
In order to meet modern-day requirements in the field of mechanical engineering, Igus has developed three new maintenance-free tribo-polymers as coating materials, specially designed for lubrication-free sliding in extremely small installation spaces. According to the company, the polymer coating will help in making the surface of moving components durable and wear-resistant and reduce the installation space required to install a plain bearing. The polymer coating surface is corrosion-free and resistant to chemicals due to its tribo-polymers. The coatings will be used in valves, pumps, guide plates and guide systems.
Lubrication-free iglidur plain bearings along with the iglidur coating service, comprising of the material iglidur IC-01 as well as the new IC-02, IC-03 and IC-06 materials will now be available to users.
