Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India today announced the start of bookings of its fastest production car ever, the Jaguar F-Type SVR, which has been launched at Rs 2.65 crore, ex-showroom. The Jaguar F-Type SVR has been developed by the Special Vehicle Operations team at JLR, with engineers and aerodynamic experts having scrutinised every component to maximise the car’s performance. The Jaguar F-Type SVR will be available in coupe and convertible body variants.
The Jaguar F-Type SVR is powered by a 5 l, supercharged, V8 engine that produces 567 hp of power and 700 Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reach a claimed top speed of 322 km/h. To aid lightweighting, the car is equipped with a titanium and inconel exhaust system, and forged 20-inch alloy wheels. The use of a new, larger rear bearing enables an increased stiffness of up to 37 % higher than the conventional F-TYPE rear knuckles, JLR said.
The interiors of the Jaguar F-Type SVR feature SVR performance seats that offer lateral support during dynamic driving. This attribute is coupled with an option of cooling, thus enhancing the overall driving experience by a notch, the company noted. The seats feature lightweight magnesium construction, which is claimed to save 8 kg of weight when compared with the previous generation models.
The F-Type SVR also comes with a V-MAX mode that allows drivers to achieve high speeds with minimum drag. The Pirelli P-Zero tyres, which are 10 mm wider than the standard F-Type tyres offer improved grip and handling. Collectively, these features truly highlight the F-Type SVR’s reputation as a powerful, agile and utterly distinctive sports car, the company said.
Rohit Suri, President and Managing Director, JLR India Ltd, said the new F-Type SVR is the first Jaguar car to have been developed by the Special Vehicle Operations team. Their ideas of precision engineering reflect brilliantly in each aspect of the car, he added. “Be it design, performance or comfort; sports car enthusiasts will experience all these features when behind the wheel of the new F-Type SVR,” Suri said.
