Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India Ltd has launched the petrol variant of its Discovery Sport SUV at Rs 56.50 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Available in HSE trim, the new version will be sold alongside its two diesel derivatives that made their entry in September last year.
The new Discovery Sport draws its power from a 2 l, petrol engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, good enough for producing a maximum power of 237 hp. The company is now offering an optional 5+2 seating capability with the SUV. Other features of the SUV include Hill Descent Control, Roll Stability Control, Electronic Traction Control, Dynamic Stability Control, and a commanding driving position. Adaptive Xenon Headlamps, Panoramic Sunroof and multiple USB charging points also come standard. Besides, the new Discovery Sport also gets a Park Assist feature, to help the driver in parallel parking, park exit and perpendicular parking.
Rohit Suri, President, JLR India, said the company is excited to introduce the petrol derivative of the Land Rover Discovery Sport. He added that this will help JLR India broaden the appeal of this premium versatile SUV for customers more inclined towards driving a powerful petrol vehicle combining Land Rover’s legendary off-road capability.
