Kia to Unveil Compact SUV Concept at Auto Expo 2020; Launch Carnival MPV

Kia Motors India will unveil a compact SUV concept at the Delhi Auto Expo 2020 as well as launch its Carnival luxury MPV. In-line to its pavilion theme, ‘Innovating Future’, Kia Motors India will also showcase 14 products to offer a glimpse of its next-gen mobility solutions. Ashok Leyland Becomes 3rd Largest Bus maker in the World


Ashok Leyland Limited is now third largest bus maker in the world, based on reports released by SIAM, OICA (Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles), and IHS Markit. The company claims to be the first to introduce power steering, air brakes, rear engine bus, India’s first double decker among others.’ The range of buses from Ashok Leyland includes JanBus  world’s first single step entry, front engine, fully flat floor bus; Sunshine- India’s first hybrid CNG plug-in bus and the Circuit – India’s first electric bus.


Honda Cars India Switches Over to BS 6 Compliant Vehicles

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has announced that it has exhausted its BS 4 compliant stock across its network. Moving forward, the company will only sell BS 6 norms compliant petrol versions of City, Amaze, Civic and CRV. Honda’s both manufacturing facilities in Greater Noida and Tapukara will now only roll out BS 6 compliant vehicles.


Maruti Suzuki Collaborates with Four Startups under MAIL Initiative

Maruti Suzuki has tied up with four new startups under its flagship innovation programme MAIL (Mobility & Automobile Innovation Lab) that aims to co-create technology-led mobility business solutions. The four start-ups are: Dave.AI, Rezo.AI, Fabrik, and ElectreeFi. The top three start-ups- Dave.AI, Rezo.AI and Fabrik will get an opportunity to undertake a paid Proof-of-Concept with Maruti Suzuki for actual business use. With the inclusion of this batch, MSIL is now engaged with 9 startups under its MAIL initiative.
