Kia Motors India today announced that it has received 6,046 bookings for its upcoming Seltos mid-SUV, on the first day of pre-bookings itself. With record bookings on the first day itself, the company claimed to already be making waves in the automotive industry with the yet-to-be launched Seltos. These substantial pre-book numbers reflect customer confidence that the brand has been able to garner even prior to the launch, Kia Motors noted.
In addition, the Kia Motors India website received about 200,000 hits on 16 July 2019, with 1,628 bookings coming from the online booking site in the first day. The company commenced pre-bookings of Seltos across its dealerships in 160 cities in the country and has achieved these landmark figures within a single day. The Seltos will be manufactured in Kia’s 536-acre Anantapur plant. The mid-SUV will be launched in India on the 22 August, 2019, with bookings currently being accepted for a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The Kia Seltos will be available in two trims - Tech Line and GT Line - and will get features such as 8-inch heads-up-display, 10.25-inch HD touchscreen and hi-tech sound mood lamp. Other features include rear shade curtain, 360° surround view monitor, blind spot monitoring, connect air-purifier, proprietary UVO connect system for wireless communication with the car and eight-speaker Bose Hi-Fi sound system.
Manohar Bhat, Vice-President and Head – Sales & Marketing, Kia Motors India, said getting such an overwhelming response from customers makes the company elated. It is a remarkable feat and is a testament to Kia’s brand recognition and acceptability in India that its brand campaign has helped achieve, he added. Bhat further said that the Seltos mid-SUV is BS VI-compliant from day one and is available in both petrol and diesel, with both manual and automatic transmission options in all powertrains. With a plant having a production capacity of 3 lakh units, Kia is fully prepared to make on-time deliveries and uphold the trust customers have shown in in the brand, noted Bhat.
