Kia Motors India Interior Design Renderings Mid-Sized SUV SP Concept

Kia Motors India today revealed interior design renderings expected to be featured in its upcoming mid-sized SUV, which due to be revealed this summer. The Kia mid-sized SUV is said to have an interior that makes a bold design statement, with a cabin characterised by broad, sweeping shapes and sophisticated technical details.

The SUV’s interior is trimmed in high-quality materials throughout, with the expansive shapes and technical forms of the cabin creating a youthful and luxurious vibe, the company said. It added that the interior features chic design details, including metallic highlights in the air vents and a broad, sweeping dashboard. In addition, the cabin also maintains a focus on technology, creating a modern ambience aimed to appeal to young-at-heart, tech-savvy buyers. Kia Motors also said that the grab-bar on the passenger side of the centre console adds a sporty feel.

The design rendering shows the dashboard centring on a 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system. The tactile, user-friendly centre console beneath allows certain features such as ventilation and air conditioning to be adjusted easily and safely on-the-move, the company noted. Kia has also showcased its Sound Mood Lighting technology, which can alter the cabin’s ambient lighting to suit occupants’ preferences, creating a high level of personalised driving experience.

Byung Chul Juh, Head, Kia Styling, Kia Motors Corporation, said the company has focused on designing a cabin unlike any other in the mid-SUV segment, with a greater sense of depth and richness to the design. “Our newest model will offer greater pleasure and satisfaction to our customers, with a premium-quality interior that benefits from sophisticated design details,” he added.

Kia Motors is set to launch this mid-SUV, which is claimed to possess the space and capabilities of a traditional SUV in a compact package, in the second half of 2019. The vehicle’s trial production commenced on 29 January, 2019, and will be manufactured at Kia’s facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
