Korean car major Kia today revealed the much awaited Seltos compact SUV in India. Showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018 as SP concept, the Seltos marks the company's entry into the Indian market. With BS VI compliant engines, the Seltos will take on various offerings in Indian market including Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur and Hyundai Creta. Kia is set to launch the Seltos in Q3 for the Indian market. Vehicles are bring made available for test drives by mid July 2019.
The Seltos compact SUV will be offered with petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel powertrain options along side three automatic transmission options - IVT (Intelligent Continuously Variable transmission) , 7DCT & 6AT and a six-speed manual transmission. The Seltos will come equipped with three drive options - Normal, Eco and Sport mode to suit various driving styles among customers.
Kia will offer features such as Seltos a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, 8 inch head-up display (HUD), MID, wireless charging, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, keyless entry, push button start/ stop, IRVM with panic button, USB charging for both seating rows, eco coating technology, air purifiers and a lot more.
Seltos will also sport the UVO connect, an advanced connected car technology that serves an array of 37 convenience and safety features under five distinct categories and will be offered free of cost for first three years for use.
The Kia Seltos will come equipped with six airbags, ABS & EBD, ESC, Hill Assist Control, traction control, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) and parking sensors in the front as well as the rest of the vehicle. Kia has also added a blind-view display to ease parking effort.
Han Woo Park, President & CEO, Kia Motors Corporation, said India is a crucial market for the company's overall growth and will play and important role in expanding Kia's global footprint. Seltos has been crafted keeping in mind Indian customer needs, he added.
