Automobili Lamborghini has reported a new sales record in 2014, with the delivery of a total of 2,530 cars, making it the fourth consecutive year of increased global sales. This lead to a yearly sales growth of 19 %, when compared to the previous year’s sales figure of 2,121 vehicles, the company said. The Aventador LP 700-4 in both, coupé and roadster versions, sold 1,128 units in 2014, making it a record in Lamborghini’s history of sales of a V12 car model.
Lamborghini launched its 10-cylinder Huracán LP 610-4 super car in 2014, which received good response with more than 3,300 orders until the end of 2014, the company noted. The company claimed to have delivered 1,137 units of the car in 2014. Gallardo, the most-built Lamborghini ever, was discontinued in 2014, with the last 265 cars being delivered in the year.
Lamborghini provided a look into the future with its first plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the Asterion LPI 910-4, at the 2014 Paris Mondial de l’Automobile. The Asterion is a concept car featuring a plug-in hybrid powertrain designed to Lamborghini objectives, the company noted.
Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A, said the company increased sales in all our major regions, with the biggest markets being the US and Greater China.
