LANXESS, the global specialty chemicals provider, is realigning its organisation, with one of its largest business units Advanced Industrial Intermediates (AII) taking over a part of the Rubber Chemicals (RUC) business unit. AII used to cater to intermediates for agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, dyes and coatings, among others, will also take over the antioxidants and accelerators businesses of the RUC business unit.
LANXESS noted that although restructured, the AII business unit's core business will continue to be the production and global marketing of high-grade industrial chemicals. However, the expansion of its current product portfolio with the addition of antioxidants and accelerators fits in very well with the existing business model, the company said. This realignment is aimed at leveraging synergies of both business units, building a competitive sales structure, allowing competitive access to raw materials and utilities, sharing of resources and optimising costs.
Hubert Fink, Head, AII Business Unit, LANXESS, said the company wants to develop strong relations with the customers for antioxidants and accelerators through the long-term perspectives achieved by the AII business unit.
LANXESS has efficient, competitive and sustainable manufacturing with the AII business unit’s manufacturing operations in Nagda, Madhya Pradesh, noted Neelanjan Banerjee, Senior Vice President, AII, and Senior Executive Director, LANXESS India. The company will now have a wider basket of products to offer customers in India and overseas, he added.
