Mahindra Electric Harnessing Dassault Systèmes’ SIMULIA for EVs

A host of applications under Simulia include thermal and structural simulation of parts such as battery enclosures, battery management system starting from design stage in EVs and also to reduce physical testing and mitigate risks involved

Dassault Systèmes at its 3DEXPERIENCE Forum 2019 has announced that Mahindra Electric has been captialising on its Simulia platform to develop future electric vehicles. Simulia family of applications for all existing EV models perform thermal & structural simulation of critical parts like battery enclosures, battery management system at the design stage.

Mahindra Electric Mobility uses Simulia to reduce design cycle time and also comply with regulations as well as mitigate risks involved during early EV development stage  with the 3DEXPERIENCE simulation platform. Mahindra Electric undertakes processes like complete thermal, structural, electromagnetic interference, electromagnetic compatibility (EMI-EMC) of critical parts that includes battery enclosures, battery management systems with 3D EXPERIENCE platform for realistic simulation rather than looking for physical prototyping.

Since consumer expectations are dynamically changing, automotive stakeholders are looking at crucial software support to step up their product development activities. Across the EV ecosytem, improved battery range performance along with safety & reliability are becoming USPs for companies to make a mark in this small EV market. CST Studio Suite, that is listed under SIMULIA apps offers high-performance 3D electro-magnetic analysis (EMI-EMC) software to enable design, analyse and optimise electromagnetic components that are of critical importance during the EV development process.

Mahesh Babu, CEO, Mahindra Electric Mobility said technology has been playing a vital role in new product development and Mahindra EVs is using Simulia tools for collaborative future of mobility.

Samson Khaou, Managing Director, India, Dassault Systèmes said, EVs will mark the future of mobility for a greener landscape and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform has been designed to address requirements of OEMs, suppliers among others.
