Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd today launched the revamped Scorpio, which comes with higher power and torque figures and a new 6-speed transmission for enhanced performance. Priced at Rs. 9.97 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi, the new Scorpio will be available in six variants: S3, S5, S7 (120 hp), S7 (140 hp), S11 (140 hp) and S11 (140 hp with 4WD).
The new Scorpio is powered by the 2.2 l, mHawk engine which has now been enhanced to deliver a higher power of 140 hp and more torque of 320 Nm. Mahindra claims that the enhanced low-end torque ensures a plush city drive and adequate amount of mid-range torque makes it a capable highway SUV. It comes equipped with a 6th generation BorgWarner turbo charger for a more responsive performance. The engine comes mated to the new easy shift 6-speed transmission.
Mahindra has worked upon the NVH levels to ensure a quieter cabin. Taking care of braking capabilities, is the 9.1 Bosch ABS system, which offers enhanced high-speed braking and improved brake feel. Other safety bits include dual front airbags, collapsible steering column & side intrusion beams, panic brake indication and engine immobiliser.
The new Scorpio comes with technology features like the new reverse parking camera with dynamic assist, new 1-touch lane change indicator and new auto window roll-up. Also on offer are projector headlamps with static bending technology, 6-inch touch-screen infotainment with GPS and fully automatic temperature control.
