Mahindra Launches New JIVO Small Tractor Platform At Rs 4 Lakh

Mahindra & Mahindra FES Launch JIVO Small Tractor Platform

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd’s (M&M) Farm Equipment Sector (FES) has launched its JIVO new small tractor platform in Bangalore at Rs 4 lakh, ex-showroom Karnataka. JIVO is the company’s third new tractor platform following the NOVO and YUVO tractor platforms. This sub-25 hp, 4WD tractor platform is suitable for row crop and horticulture farming category. The company plans to launch a 20 hp, 2WD model on the JIVO platform during October-December, 2017.

The new JIVO tractor is available with 4WD, with engine power of 24 hp and PTO power of 22 hp. It features Mahindra’s DI engine, claimed to offer best-in-class fuel efficiency and torque, mated to a transmission offering eight forward and four reverse gears. The JIVO platform is equipped with Automatic Depth and Draft Control (ADDC), a feature not available from competition in this hp range.

The JIVO tractor is said be suitable for multiple applications, with superior performance in crop care, land preparation, inter-culture and vineyard spraying. It offers a two-speed PTO, with best-in-class lift capacity of 750 kg and a top speed of 25 km/h. The JIVO 24 hp tractor is also offered with Mahindra DiGiSENSE technology, which will enable owners to be connected to their tractors 24x7. This technology will enable owners to get update on the performance of their tractors, as well as alerts on real-time basis. It will provide alerts on engine rpm, temperature, battery status, vehicle speed and fuel level, and will allow geo-fencing and mapping, live tracking and history.

The JIVO small tractor platform was developed ground-up by M&M by the group at the Mahindra Research Valley. It has been developed with feedback received from customers on the specific needs of the specialised farming segment of horticulture and row farming, the company noted.

The JIVO platform offers compact size, stylish and comfortable design, class-leading power, attractive power, and best-in-class PTO hp and fuel efficiency, he added.
