Swaraj Tractors, the tractor arm of the Mahindra Group, has launched the all-new 963 FE, priced at Rs 7.40 lakh, ex-showroom Mohali. The newest offering marks the creation of a new tractor platform, catering to the high power segment ranging from 60-75 hp, up from its current offering of 15-60 hp range.

The 963 FE has been designed in-house by Swaraj, and is said to be suited for a wide range of applications, from land preparation to post-harvest operations. It is also said to be compatible with rotary tillers, MB plough, TMCH, potato planter, dozers, balers, banana mulchers among others, the company stated. The 963 FE will be available in two options – two wheel option for immediate roll-out, while the four wheel option will be available in a few months later.

The new 963 FE tractor is powered by a 60 hp engine claiming to deliver 15 % more torque than other tractors in the same category. This tractor’s transmission offers 14-speed gearbox (12 forward and two rear) gearbox, offering a wide range of gear selections from 0.5 km/ hr to 31.5 km/ hr. The 963 FE also has features a 540 PTO, 540 Economic PTO and multi-speed forward with reverse PTO, and easy hitch. The Swaraj 963 FE also comes with best-in-class 2,200 kg lifting capacity hydraulic system.

On the safety front, the tractor has a starting safety switch, casted front axle bracket and a differential lock. The starting safety switch ensures that the tractor can be operated only when the transmission is disengaged from the engine, the company noted. It comes with ergonomic seating, suspended pedals, and single-shift gear levers that ensure fatigue-free driving. Its new digital dashboard comes with service reminder feature and multi-reflector lights.

Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, said the Swaraj brand is well differentiated from competition owing to its strong bonding with its stakeholders and lives up to the ‘Make in India’ promise. He added that the launch of 963 FE will further strengthen the brand and help built a much stronger portfolio of tractors that will cater to a wider range of farming applications and geographical markets.
