Maruti Suzuki is offering the S-Presso with two transmission options – five-speed manual transmission and Auto Gear Shift (AGS) automated manual transmission. The company has a claimed fuel economy of over 21 km/l, with safety features including offset side crash, driver airbag, ABS with EBD, high-speed warning alert, reverse parking sensors, seatbelt pretensioners as well as steering mounted controls.

Ayukawa noted that S-PRESSO is widely appreciated by customers in India and the company is confident of its acceptance in international markets. “With S-PRESSO we are looking to make in-roads in many new markets,” he said.

The S-Presso reached the list of country’s top-10 bestselling cars within a month of its launch in India. Maruti Suzuki has sold over 35,000 units of S-Presso since its launch in September 2019, in the domestic market.
