Dzire reigns with over 60 % market share in the compact sedan market; stands as the highest-selling car in first eight months of 2019-20
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) today announced that its Dzire compact sedan has achieved the stand as the leader in its segment for over a decade. This has been further enhanced by the fact that the Maruti Suzuki Dzire has become the best-selling car in the first eight months of 2019-20 with over 1.2 lakh unit sales from Apr-Nov, 2019. Additionally, Dzire has also crossed the record milestone of 2 million unit cumulative sales recently, the company noted.
The Dzire has been India’s best-selling compact sedan for over 10 years, as it is backed by smooth styling, plush interiors, superior overall comfort and advanced safety features, noted MSIL. The company added that carrying forward the legacy, the new Dzire has become a hit with the launch of its third-generation model in May 2017. The Dzire is claimed to be a perfect package for the young, aspirational and ‘indulgence desiring’ Indian customer.
Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, said over years, Dzire has created a niche for itself amongst compact sedans. The Dzire was conceptualised keeping in mind the customer demands, and over 70 % of customers are pre-determined buyers who wish to upgrade to a sedan, he added. Srivastava said, “We are extremely grateful to our customers for their tremendous trust in brand Dzire. This trust has helped Dzire to become the country’s highest selling car in this fiscal year.”
