Launched in year 2000, Maruti Suzuki Alto clocked first 10 lakh sales in 8 years and crossed 38 lakh sales milestone in the next 11 years with 54 % of its customers being first time car buyers
Maruti Suzuki India has achieved 38 lakh sales milestone for its brand Alto. Based on its design, fuel efficiency, easy manouverability as well as affordability, Alto has been among the top-selling cars for over decade and half, stated the company.
Maruti Suzuki Alto clocked first 10 lakh sales in just eight years of its launch in year 2000. It just took 11 years for the company to sell the next 28 lakh vehicles. The Alto has been updated by the company at regular intervals to suit the customer demands and has already been upgraded to comply with BS VI emission norms due next year. Various safety features of the Alto include driver and passenger airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), speed alert system, reverse parking sensor as well as seat belt reminders for both driver and co-driver.
Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India, said the new 38 lakh sales milestone is a testament to the company’s commitment to offer better products.
