Aiming to rectify faults that may be potential safety defects in the vehicle’s Motor Generator Unit, Maruti Suzuki is undertaking the recall campaign to ensure customer safety
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced to proactively recall certain petrol Smart Hybrid (SHVS) variants of its various models - Ciaz, Ertiga and XL6 that the company manufactured in between January 1, 2019 to November 21, 2019. The company will contact suspected vehicle owners for product inspection starting December 6, 2019. The voluntarily recall campaign is being undertaken to rectify faults that may be potential safety defects and ensure customer safety, stated the company.
Maruti Suzuki will inspect 63,493 vehicles of petrol SHVS models of Ciaz, Ertiga and XL6 for a possible issue with the Motor Generator Unit (MGU) that may carry defect occurred during manufacturing MSIL’s overseas global part supplier. Vehicles that will require part replacement will be undertaken free of cost.
