The company has identified an issue with the fuel pump in certain models of WagonR and Baleno hatchbacks, and will replace the faulty part for free
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) today announced the recall of a total of 134,885 units of 1 l WagonR and Baleno petrol version, combined, for a possible fuel pump issue. The WagonR 1 l models being recalled were those manufactured between 15 November 2018 and 15 October 2019, and Baleno (petrol) manufactured between 8 January 2019 and 4 November 2019. MSIL will inspect 56,663 units of WagonR and 78,222 units of Baleno for a possible issue with the fuel pump, with the faulty part being replaced, free of cost.
MSIL said owners of the suspected vehicles under this recall campaign will be contacted by the company’s authorised dealers in due course of time. Additionally, customers can visit the ‘Imp Customer Info’ section on the company websites www.marutisuzuki.com (for WagonR) and www.nexaexperience.com (for Baleno) and fill in their vehicles chassis number (MA3 or MBH, followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) to check if their vehicle needs any attention and follow the instructions. The chassis number is embossed on the vehicle ID plate and is also mentioned in the vehicle invoice/registration documents.
