Installation of fast chargers part of the company’s commitment to fulfil the needs of EV customers with regards to range anxiety
MG Motor India today announced that it has set up 50 kW DC fast-charging stations for customers of its ZS EV electric car at 10 dealerships across the country. This is in line with the company’s commitment in setting up a five-step charging ecosystem that is aimed at fulfilling the needs of EV customers. The company this DC Super-Fast charging network can be availed 24x7.
The DC fast chargers have been installed at MG dealerships in Gurugram, Noida, Thane, Bengaluru (2), Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Delhi (2). In addition to the chargers that have been installed, MG plans to create an extended charging network across its dealerships in select satellite cities along key routes and provide charge-on-the-go with roadside assistance.
Through the Super-Fast DC chargers, the ZS EV will reach 80 % battery capacity within 50 minutes, while AC fast chargers installed at homes will take about 6-8 hours for a full charge. The MG ZS EV comes with an on-board cable to charge at any 15amp socket. In addition, the company will also install an AC fast charger at the home/office of its customers.
MG Motor India unveiled the ZS Electric SUV in December, with the launch slated to be in January 2020. The ZS electric vehicle comes with a 143 hp electric motor that draws power from a 44.5kWh lithium-ion battery and offers a range of 340 km. The powertrain churns out 353 Nm of peak torque output.
