The contact-free tech will be enhanced by voice interactions which can be activated by customers via scanning QR codes at dealerships
MG Motor India has released its ‘MG Shield+’ programme which will focus on contact-free initiatives for sales and service initiatives. Offering more services with the least contact will increase overall safety for customers and employees throughout the car buying process. Shield+ has been developed completely Contact-free Technology, Doorstep Delivery of Services, and Enhanced Sanitization practices. It will come with MG VPHY which will enable voice-guided demonstration of its vehicles. One can simply walk up to an MG vehicle at the showroom and be guided by automated voice instructions. To further increase usability, customers can scan QR codes during walkarounds and get additional voice-guided feature demonstrations. This will minimize human interaction and improve customer experience by assisting throughout the vehicle selection process.
MG will also continue to roll out first-of-its-kind OTA (Over-The-Air) updates for vehicle infotainment systems wherein customers will be able to upgrade the software of their MG’s i-SMART infotainment system themselves, without needing to visit the service station. The MGCare@Home facility will allow customers to avail of several quick services including sanitization, disinfection, and fumigation through trained professionals at home. Vehicle cabin fumigation is done with MGerm Clean and MG is exploring in-car sterilization and complete disinfection through Medklinn’s Cerafusion technology for its cars. Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India, states “Shield+ is an umbrella sales and service programme aimed at the complete convenience of our customers in the new normal and is a testimony of our commitment to the safety of our customers. The program keeps customer experience at the core and is driven by innovation and technology, a core pillar at MG”.
