New Mahindra KUV100 NXT Launched at Rs 4.39 Lakh

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M) launched the refreshed version of its compact SUV KUV1OO today, called KUV1OO NXT, with prices starting from Rs 4.39 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai, for the petrol variant. Prices for the diesel variant of the KUV1OO NXT start from Rs 5.39 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai. The Mahindra KUV1OO NXT is said to offer 40 new features, with changes to the exterior and interior design, in addition to vehicle connectivity. At the launch, M&M also announced that it will launch a full-electric version of the KUV1OO NXT within a year.

The major changes to the exterior in the new KUV1OO NXT include new front grill, dual tone front and rear bumpers, new wheel arch cladding, and a completely-new rear tailgate. Other notable enhancements come in the form of new dual-chamber headlamps with LED DRLs, double-barrel clear lens tail lights, fog lamps with black bezel surrounds, and 15-inch diamond-cut dual tone alloy wheels. The KUV1OO NXT also gets new outside rear-view mirrors with integrated turn indicators, and an aerodynamic spoiler with winglets at the corners. M& said the KUV1OO NXT is longer than the previous version, but that has no effect on the wheelbase of the vehicle.

The new technology features in the KUV1OO NXT are a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, GPS navigation, electronic temperature control, electrically-foldable outside rear-view mirrors, electrically-operatable tailgate latch and Intellipark with reverse assist sensors. The interiors sport full-black treatment, with new seat fabric design and colour, improved seat bolstering, newly-designed cluster illumination, along with a new centre console design. The KUV1OO NXT will continue to be offered with the option of five and six-seater configurations.

The new KUV1OO NXT comes with a range of safety features that include monocoque construction with ultra-high strength steel, ABS with EBD standard across all variants, and dual airbags from the K2+ variant. The vehicle gets ISOFIX child seats mounts, automatic hazard lights on panic braking, and rear windscreen washer and wiper with defogger.

Dr Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, M&M, said the KUV1OO created a new category with an SUV in the price segment of Rs 4.5-7.5 lakh. He added that the company has always been a listening organisation and in line with that, has managed to successfully launch the new KUV1OO NXT within 21 months. He also said that M&M plans to launch a full-electric version of the KUV1OO in less than a year, and that the company’s entire utility vehicle line-up  will be available in electric version in the coming years.

"Today’s evolving customer aspirations demand more in terms of premiumness, style and hi-tech features and the KUV100 NXT is a true reflection of that, noted Rajan Wadhera, President, Automotive Sector, M&M. “Given that the growth in the UV segment has been primarily driven by the compact SUVs, I am confident that the KUV100 NXT will resonate well with its buyers, both first time car buyers as well as upgraders,” he said.
