Coverage of up to Rs 30,000 will be offered to driver-partners as Ola business gets affected due to coronavirus crisis
Ola has announced a support package of Ra 1,000 per day for driver-partners and up to Rs 30,000 for their spouses if they get affected. Additionally, the company has partnered with Mfine to give free online doctor consultations for drivers and their families. Ola will be covering these eligible families with a floater sum of Rs 30,000. A compensation of Rs 1000 per day will be offered for a period of maximum 21 days in case a driver tests positive for COVID-19. All claims may be made by the driver or their spouses on producing the required medical documentation. Ola has started the service with immediate effect considering the rising cases contracting the SARS-Cov-2 virus. The package is available to all driver-partners nationwide working across Ola Bike, Ola Auto, Ola Rentals and Outstation. The coronavirus pandemic has already caused massive disruptions across all segments of the economic society. Ola’s support is tiny yet crucial support towards its drivers.
Further Mfine and Ola have joined hands to offer free medical support through Online Doctor Consultation App. More than 500 doctors are available on the app offering consultation without physically going to a clinic thus avoiding any human contact, which is a much-needed exercise midst coronavirus crisis. Driver-partners and their families will be able to avail these services for free using a special code provided to them. Anand Subramanian, Head of Communications, Ola, stated “Through our tailored insurance offering, we are able to help driver-partners and their spouses, through assured financial support if they are diagnosed with COVID-19”. Ola partner care teams will be available 24X7 at hand to provide necessary aid to its drivers.
