Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL) has announced the launch of new Porter 700 as an addition to its four-wheeler cargo fleet. Priced at Rs 3.3 lakhs, the Porter 700 is part of Piaggio’s on-going customer feedback program to improve last mile connectivity for commercial vehicles.
The vehicle produces a maximum power of 14.75 hp and a peak torque of 40 Nm. It has a payload capacity of 700 kgs and a cargo deck covering 30 sq ft for better load carrying capability. A ground clearance of 218 mm is expected to negotiate bumpy rides easily. It comes equipped with a five-speed floor mounted Synchromesh gear box.
The company claims that the Porter 700 offers superior grade ability of 21 % and better manoeuvrability which ensures driving on steep gradients including city flyovers and narrow city roads easier. Also, Piaggio touts it as the only vehicle with twin headlamps in order to enable safer night driving experience.
Explaining the Company’s new initiative, Ravi Chopra, Chairman, PVPL, said, “Piaggio would continue to provide technological solutions in the last mile transportation market and would focus on further strengthening & dominating this category particularly the last mile transportation cargo market. The three-wheelers and four-wheelers will continue to co-exist.”
