Porsche India today launched the updated versions of its popular 911 sports car range in India, with the Carrera base version being priced at Rs 1.42 crore, ex-showroom Delhi. The new family has models including the 911 Carrera, 911 Carrera S, 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S.
The new 911 Carrera is powered by a 2.9 l, twin-turbocharged, flat-six engine that churns out 370 hp of power and 450 Nm of torque. The Carrera S, on the other hand, produces a power output of 420 hp, with the peak torque rated at 500 Nm. The Carrera S comes with rear-axle steering that claims to increase the overall dynamics of the vehicle.
Talking of 911 Turbo, the new model draws its power from a 3.8 l, six-cylinder bi-turbo engine that pumps out 540 hp of power, accounting for 20 hp increase than its predecessor. The 911 Turbo S on the parallel develops a peak power of 580 hp and hits a top speed mark of 330 km/h.
The updated 911 range by Porsche comes with new headlights with four point DRLs, redesigned rear lid and refreshed brake lights. Also, the range has now been equipped with a mode switch on the steering wheel for four driving modes - Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. The interior features a Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system comprising of a multi-touch seven-inch display, along with an expanded range of functions and intuitive controls.
Pavan Shetty, Director, Porsche India, said the Porsche 911 is a car that has achieved iconic status over the decades. This model represents standard-setting sports car performance along with the convenience of everyday usability, all packaged in a legendary design, he added.
