Renault India today launched the RXL variant of its Kwid hatchback at Rs 4.16 lakh for the manual transmission and Rs 4.48 lakh for the AMT version. This launch is in celebration of Renault having sold 3.5 lakh units of the Kwid in India. The company noted that the Kwid strongly resonates with the ‘Make in India’ initiative, with a 98 % rate of localisation.
Renault has also announced a range of offers for customers. They include ‘Buy Now Pay Later’ scheme, in addition to cash offers, exchange benefits and special finance rates. These are complemented by additional loyalty offers for its existing customers. Renault India has also rolled out additional benefits for Doctors and Police personnel, under its ‘Care for Caregivers’ programme, as a gesture to thank the efforts of the professionals engaged in fighting the COVID-19 battle in India.
Renault said it has also significantly enhanced digital capabilities and portfolios with online booking options and other interventions. Customers can book cars from home on the Renault India website or the MyRenault App at a nominal booking amount, and can also get loan approvals remotely from Renault Finance.
Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said Kwid has been an important contributor to the company’s progress in India. “With more than 3.5 lakh Kwid families, we are overwhelmed and grateful for the faith that our customers have bestowed in brand Renault,” he added. Mamillapalle noted that in the post lockdown scenario, there may be a considerable demand shift from public transport to customers considering the mini car segment, due to the new normal norms anticipated.
