STMicroelectronics and Arrow Electronics are offering a new ECU reference design for EFI systems for new emission norms

STMicroelectronics has joined hands with Arrow Electronics to offer electronic fuel injection (EFI) reference designs that are compliant with the latest emission regulation for small engines. These are set to aid the industry meet regulations for single and twin cylinder engines.

The SPC5-L9177A-K02 ECU Reference Design will cater to small engines for two-wheelers, three-wheelers that must comply to Euro 5, BS VI and China IV norms. It can also address generators, nautical engines, agricultural engines that come with EFI ECUs.

Key components in the reference design are ST’s SPC572L Line 32-bit power architecture that is an automotive powertrain microcontroller and L9177A high-integration IC hosting power supplies, interfaces and load actuators that have been designed for market needs. \

The board will come ready for buyers to develop application, offering a full ecosystem that includes SPC5 Studio Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that has low-level drivers, a generic timer module (GTM) configurator for the SPC572 Line, as well as powertrain libraries for engine crank position sensor and actuation.
