Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced it has concluded an agreement with Toyota Motor Corporation to jointly contribute to social issues and achievement of sound and sustainable development of an automobile-based society. This agreement follows the October, 2016, announcement of Toyota and Suzuki to start exploring ideas directed toward business partnership. The two companies will explore possibility of cooperation in areas including environment and safety, Information Technology and mutual supply of products and components.
Since the announcement of their possible partnership, the companies shared with each other their challenges, and have been discussing areas of collaboration in a manner that ensures fair and free competition. Toyota and Suzuki have agreed to work toward the early realisation of business partnership, for which they will establish an implementation framework aimed at bringing the points agreed on to realisation.
Akio Toyoda, President, Toyota, said both the companies want to cooperate towards enabling all people throughout the world to truly experience the joy of mobility. He thanked Suzuki for giving the opportunity to work together, and noted that Toyota looks forward to learning much.
