After Tata Nexon, Altroz has become the second car from Tata Motors to win 5 star adult safety rating from Global NCAP; the premium hatchback Altroz also gets 3-star rating for child occupant safety
Tata Motors’ Altroz has become the second Indian car to earn 5-star adult safety rating from Global NCAP. Altroz has been tested for its overall safety as well as structure at the Global NCAP crash tests in which both front impact and side impact tests were conducted.
Altroz has also received 3-star rating for child occupant safety and become the second car from Tata Motors to win 5 star adult safety rating after the Nexon. The five-star rating remains standard across all variants of the premium hatchback Altroz.
The Altroz is based on the concept Tata motors had showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in New Delhi as the 45X concept and is likely to go on sale in February 2020. The Altroz cage gets about 20 % advanced high strength steel with critical reinforcements. The energy absorbing body structure provides a controlled crash load path for the impact and prevents the passenger cabin from deformation with crumple zone and side intrusion beam, claims the company.
