Tata Motors has launched ‘Ziptron’, its state-of-the-art technology that aims to propel electric vehicles and their adoption in the country. The company intends to power its range OF electric cars with Ziptron starting with a launch in Q4 of FY20.
Ziptron comprises an efficient permanent magnet AC motor, water-proof battery system meeting IP67 standards, longer range, fast charging capability and battery with warranty of 8 years. It also uses smart regenerative braking to charge the battery while on the drive. The company has also launched THE Freedom 2.0 campaign that aims at highlighting the benefits of EV technologies.
Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD, Tata Motors, said Ziptron has been designed in-house and rigorously tested across a million kms, to make it reliable and accelerate adoption of EVs in the country.
