Tata Motors rolled out the next generation compact sedan, all-new Tata Tigor at a starting price of Rs 5.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Tigor's petrol variants are priced between Rs 5.20 lakh and Rs 6.65 lakh, while the Tigor's diesel variants are priced between Rs 6.09 lakh and Rs 7.38 lakh. The newest offering from the Tata Motors’ stable is powered by the 1.2. litre Revotron engine, while the diesel variant is powered by the 1.5 litre Revotorq engine. The Tigor’s petrol engine delivers a maximum power of 85 ps@ 6000 rpm and torque of 114 Nm@ 3500 rpm. The Tigor’s diesel engine delivers a maximum power of 70 ps@ 4000 rpm and torque of 140 Nm@1800-3000 rpm. The company said these engines have been further refined and optimised to deliver better performance and lower NVH. Tata Motors has also carried out improvements in transmission assembly to reduce vibrations.
The premium compact sedan comes with a safe and reliable architecture with cocoon like safety cell for its passengers, dual airbags as a standard feature and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Corner Stability Control (CSC). The Tigor boasts of exclusively styled interiors and exteriors and is equipped with break free coupe-like roofline and dual chamber projector headlamps with sparkling chrome finish exuding a stylish look. The Tigor also offers height adjustable driver’s seat as standard feature for the perfect driving position, scooped out front seat backs for more legroom, class-leading head and elbow room for rear passengers, the company noted.
The premium compact sedan also comes equipped with a fully automatic temperature control (FATC) with uniform cooling all around the cabin and offers a boot space of 419 litres. The Tigor is available in 5 variants - XE, XM, XZ, XZA and XZ+ with an AMT version for its XZ variant - it is available in six colours - Egyptian Blue, Roman Silver, Berry Red, Pearlscent White, Titanium Grey and Espresso Brown. The Tigor will be available across all Tata Motors’ authorised sales outlets.
