Tata Motors added the Tiago NRG to its portfolio today. The Tiago NRG has been priced at Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol variant and Rs 6.31 lakh (ex-showroom) for the diesel variant. The Tata Tiago NRG has been positioned as an ‘Urban Toughroader’ and is slated to create a segment of its own.
Powering the Tiago NRG is a 1.2 L Revotron petrol motor and a 1.05L Revotorq diesel. These are the same engines being offered on the Tiago hatchback. Tata will be offering the Tiago NRG in three colours – Malabar Silver, Canyon Orange and Fuji White with dual tone infinity black roof and roof rails.
The new Tata Tiago NRG gets an armoured front design, squricle wheel arches, muscular finisher on the tailgate and a skidplate. Tata has also bolted on a four spoke DurAlloy dual tone wheels. The interiors are come in an active black scheme with orange highlights. Bootspace on the Tiago NRG stands at 242 litres. The engine options on the Tiago NRG have been mated with a five speed manual transmission on offer. At present no automatic transmission is being offered.
Tata claimed to have worked on the suspensions setup on the Tiago NRG, tuned it specifically for rough road terrains. The Tiago NRG has been equipped with an Intelligen electric power steering. Safety features on offer includes ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, corner stability control and reverse parking assist.
