Triumph Motorcycles India today launched the 2018 Bonneville Speedmaster in India at a price of Rs 11.11 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The bike will be available as a complete CKD and is based on the Bonneville Bobber, launched last year.
The new Bonneville Speedmaster comes with the T120s 1200cc, High Torque, parallel-twin engine, and adds the higher torque engine tune of the Bobber. It delivers a maximum power of 76 hp and a peak torque of 106 Nm at 4000 rpm. The bike gets a ride-by-wire system enabling different throttle responses rand two riding modes, selectable via a new switchgear arrangement.
The engine gets an immobiliser as standard, with a transponder incorporated into the key. The cruise control comes with a single button function with one press for on, one press to set the speed, and one press to cancel. In order to reduce clutch lever effort, the torque assist clutch improves long distance rideability and reduces rider fatigue.
In terms of safety features, the new Speedmaster gets 310mm twin discs up front with twin piston Brembo callipers and a 25 mm single disc at the rear with single piston Nissin calliper. ABS is standard and the bike comes equipped with a 41mm cartridge front forks getting 90mm travel and a rear monoshock RSU with linkage, 73mm rear wheel travel and a stepped preload adjuster.
