The Fascino, RayZR and Street Rally scooters will all be powered by a new 125 cc, fuel-injected BS 6 compliant engine that delivers about 8.1 hp of power and peak torque of 9.7 Nm. This new engine is claimed to offer 30 % higher power output, and a 16 % increase in fuel economy in comparison to the earlier offered 113 cc engines. The engines are equipped with a Stop/Start system that shuts off the engine while idling and restarts with a twist of the throttle. The motor generator also ensures that a separate conventional electric starter is not required to be present. The scooters are available with dual drum brakes or the option of front disc brakes, with the existence of a ‘unified brake system’ that engages brakes on both wheels while only the rear brake lever is engaged. Furthermore, the scooter features a side stand engine cut-off switch, which Yamaha is making standard across all its vehicle models.

The Fascino and Ray scooters feature new exterior design elements, with the former featuring higher quality bodywork, newly-designed headlight and a new instrument cluster. Meanwhile the RayZR and Street Rally come with a Y-shaped LED position lamp, along with individually-mounted turn signals.

Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies, said introduction of the Fascino 125 FI makes the company’s entry into the 125 cc scooter segment. The new Fascino 125 FI will help the brand to connect to the audience of fashion-conscious young customers.
